These guys have the best insights on Design for Manufacturability. www.h2manufacturingsolutions.com

It’s been a bit, and we have much to share from the H2 side of the business!

For starters, we are helping the Community College of Denver determine what suite of services and technologies they should be offering to their Colorado learners as they consider adding to their program offerings. In order to collect feedback to ensure this new program generates the greatest impact possible for our community, we have developed a survey to collect inputs from local businesses. This is not industry-specific, so we encourage you to participate so that you have control over the workforce that YOU need and that YOUR INDUSTRY requires.

Here is that link and in filling it out, you will be entered into a drawing for a weekend stay up in the Colorado foothills in Winter Park, Colorado this fall. We are anxious to receive your feedback. Just a reminder that we are only as good as the information provided to us by local industry regarding these programs.

See the survey link below:

R&D Engineering can be exhausting. All to get the design completed and realize that you needed some inputs from a manufacturability lens. That’s our job at H2 Manufacturing Solutions, so we thought this year when reserves might be tighter than normal, we would give some quick insights and tips on what we see as cost drivers. We would encourage you to submit your questions to heidi@h2manufacturingsolutions.com so we can provide answers on the next newsletter. Let’s make this work for all of us, so keep those questions coming!

Electronics tip of the day: Reflow profiles are critical to quality and efficiency. Always check your profile and determine what you feel is best for your product. Especially if the design includes 0201 and BGA footprints, this will matter. There are some tricks to that trade, so if you want more answers on that contact Zach Logsden at zach@coloradotechshop.com. Zach is our Process Engineer and is a wealth of knowledge here.

Machining tip of the day: Be sure to have a full understanding of the machine capabilities of your supply chain, and then ensure your GD&T reflects those inputs. For example, if you call out concentricity, ask yourself if you truly need it. Because if not, then you will save yourself approx. 35-40% by specifying total runout. Not to mention most shops cannot even inspect for true concentricity.

Next month we will address any and all of your questions and start to tackle some quality inputs that can save you tons of time and money too. For more tips like this ping us with your questions and/or check out our H2 blog at: Blog | H2 Solutions.

Last but not least – if you are worried about tariffs, you can access a tariff tracker at the Denver World Trade Center website by clicking here. Go to the end of the page and you will see the tariff tracker and executive order updates. Sometimes knowledge is in fact power.

Till next time – I hope this finds everyone enjoying your spring and taking a moment to remember the things that matter most.

My biggest memory has to do with my son who is heading into High School, so yes…..the days go slow and the years go fast.

Don’t sweat the small stuff,
